He was the son of Ariel Nims and Anna Brewer. He married Marietta Nichols on January 31, 1810. MARRIETTA NICHOLS was b in 1788 and d Dec 21, 1834 at Manlius, NY. ... Asa Nims removed to Manlius, NY with his cousin Lemuel Nims and probably other family members abt 1809. The first deed in his name was made Mar 4, 1809 w/ Solomon Edwards for $143 to purchase lot 44 i the town of Cicero. Asa and Marietta were members of Christ Church in Manlius. ... At his death, the Onondaga Standard noted "Asa Nims d at Manlius, on the 2nd inst., Asa Nims, esp an old and respectable inhabitant of that place." (On p 564, vol 1.
